    Dielectric test strength

I have a requirement to test a solenoid on a valve and says to:

Apply 600Vrms at 60 hz between each connector ion and connector shell and minor current. What would I use to apply this voltage?

A small benchtop AC Hipot works well if you do it often. 2.2kVAC is a common test voltage for control wiring, many of the test sets are rated to 2.5kVAC. Search Ebay for "AC Hipot" and you will get the idea. They come up often on Ebay and can be had for very little money.

If your on the job and just want to get through it this one time, a powerstat, PT, Fluke and a cheater cord will work.
