TestGuy is Expanding and Seeking Additional Team Members

The TestGuy Electrical Testing Network (ETN) is an alliance of experienced technicians, engineers, and testing companies who want to join our cause of spreading knowledge in the field of power systems maintenance, protective relaying, engineering, apparatus testing and commissioning.

We have big plans in the works and opportunities are available for anyone with the right combination of field experience, writing skills and a passion for electrical testing. Contributors can earn compensation and gain exposure across our platform and the electrical industry as a whole. This is a great way to obtain brand recognition if you are a business owner.

Applicants must be able to contribute on a quarterly basis at minimum. Holding an active NICET or NETA certification is preferred but not required based on verifiable work experience. Here are some ways you can get involved with our organization and how to join:

    1. Technical Articles and Guides
5+ years professional work experience in the electrical industry.

Articles should be technical, informative, and non-promotional in nature but you may reference your product or company with a call to action at the end of the content. Along with publishing your article, we can include a profile photo and short biography of the author with links back to your website or LinkedIn profile.

We can provide you with topic ideas and templates to get started. The average article length is around 1200 words and must be exclusively published through TestGuy for at least 90 days. Content gets indexed by search engines and remains live on the site for many years, generating long term visibility and traffic for your brand. A link to your article will appear on the homepage while it remains “fresh.”

    2. Practice Exam and Study Guide Material
5+ years professional work experience, specific to electrical testing.

Active certification not required but a provable strong understanding of NETA or NICET standards is a must. We are looking for individuals to help review existing and create new practice exam material.

    3. Expansion of the TestGuy Mobile App
4+ years professional work experience in the electrical industry.

No coding skills are required. We are looking for individuals to help develop new features, report bugs and give us feedback on how the app is working in the field.

    4. Photography and Graphics
2+ years professional work experience in the electrical industry.

We are looking for individuals to send us apparatus and job site photos we can publish in our articles. You will be compensated for your work in exchange for TestGuy becoming a licensed owner of any image we publish.

    5. Standards Creation and Review Council
10+ years professional work experience, specific to electrical testing.

We are building our own set of open testing standards, similar to NETA and NICET. There are limited spots available on this board. An active certification is not necessary but should have at least been held in the past 4 years. Individuals must be able to demonstrate knowledge and prove work experience before being considered.

    6. Certification Board
10+ years professional work experience, specific to electrical testing.

We are exploring the idea of creating our own nationally recognized certification, similar to NETA and NICET and need highly credentialed individuals to join the certification board.
