    Instantaneous Trip

Why do I not see inst trips on feeders fed from a 69/12kv 20MVA bank but I do at 138/12kv >20MVA banks?

Could be any number of things, do you work for this utility /company?
-Could be their P&C engineering philosophy
    -They could have missed it
-Were settings done by a contractor, maybe less than proficient

You should ask the P&C engineer for the company that you are doing the work for and or the contractor who did the settings. If you work for a Utility they should explain their philosophy on such settings, if you do contract testing you need to ask and over time you will become familiar with different companies settings, you may not know how the substations /loads are connected and require abnormal settings.

Even with contract testing it is a good idea to know who the settings engineer is and ask for his contact info
