Most common cause of failure of electrical equipment in service
What is the most common cause of failure of electrical equipment in service?
I put surges.
My second guess would be humidity.
Thoughts?

Water! (which I guess can be considered to be humidity)

Because they use the term "most common" I would think heat. Water is obviously a problem for electrical equipment but I am not how sure how "common" water problems are...heat is very common. I see humidity as also common in certain geographies but heat is always present with electrical equipment.

Most and common failure of Electrical equipment is Improper maintenance i,e Dust, moisture is the common thing mostly you will find some failure is caused by loose connection aswell.

Wouldn't age of equipment be a huge factor as well?
