What are your thoughts on PEARL?

Good Afternoon Everyone. I work for a non-NETA company as we provide Engineering and Manufacturing turnkey projects in addition to testing. Our ratio is too far apart. We are trying to find accreditation for the company and our technicians. We are hoping to roll out NiCet testing this year for the techs. What are your thoughts on PEARL? Is there value in their accreditation? If not what are your companies using in place of NETA? Thanks in advance for your time, Billy

Founded in 1997, the Professional Electrical Apparatus Reconditioning League (PEARL) is a national trade organization for companies that supply quality surplus and reconditioned/remanufactured electrical equipment and apparatus. PEARL is an ANSI accredited standards developer.

In general, PEARL speaks more to the reconditioning of circuit breakers or equipment. If your techs strictly work on that level, by all means, certify PEARL. Nicet applies to testing, which if you are trying to get techs certified in the testing world, nicet is better. Nicet would be the only one that compares to NETA, and most entities look at NETA as being superior due to the much stricter requirements.
