    How to find amps using farads and voltage

    can someone explain how you find amps using only farads and voltage?

    I assume you are referring to a purely capacitive circuit. You need to use the farads to find XsubC. XsubC = 1/(2(pi)fc). If you assume 60 hertz, you can find XsubC with only the farads. In a purely capacative circuit, XsubC is your only impedance, so you can plug that right into E=IZ to find your current.

    If you have frequency you can get Xc (the resistance of the capacitor)

    1/(2piFC) = Xc

    where F is Frequency
    C is Capacitance

    then use Ohms law I=V/R or in this case I=V/Xc

    If you don't have frequency I'm not sure how you'd do it.
