Start button on a motor control bucket

The start button on a motor control bucket is connected to an actuator which when pressed will operate a normally closed contact.

This is a True/False question in the test. The solution is 'False'. Is there anyone can explain why?

    NC contact

If the contact is NC when you press the Start button you would open the contact and break the circuit? Or that's the way I'm reading it...
