The most common cause of failures in a wind turbine is:
I answered Gearbox which was wrong.
I believe the other answers were: fire, instrument, and generator.

    Anyone have nay experience here?

Fires are major cause of wind farm failure, according to new research. Fire is the second leading cause of accidents in wind turbines, after blade failure, according to research out today. Wind farming is one of the leading industries in the renewable energy sector.

Since blade failure was not an answer (an outside of NETA scope of work), Fire would be the 'best' answer.

According to Cotes, blade damage is the most common cause of failure. It makes sense to me, because mankind can conduct maintenance and engineer controls, but the blades still need to spin through open air to catch the wind.
