Comments: Current Transformer Basics: Understanding Ratio, Polarity, and Class

Good morning. I am not sure the legality or proper way of attaching information. I was having trouble figuring out how to calculate the proper turns for multi ratio CT so did a search. I found the attached web site. Hopefully it helps others as I has me.

Why do we use standard current transformers while testing a given current transformer? For what purpose are they used in testing field?

I work at an industrial work site developing OSHA tagouts to isolate hazardous energy for personnel protection. You have a statement on this page (https://testguy.net/content/190-Curr...Class#comments) saying, "It is important that a CT always have a burden or load connected when not in use, otherwise a dangerously high secondary voltage can develop across the secondary terminals." I am very interested in other sources to validate this claim. Can you provide sources for further reading on this topic?
